A view to the future
Operations
As our projects evolve our business will adapt and grow. From finding the right deposits, to planning and building our mine sites, to commencing mining operations and preparing our product for market, each new stage builds upon the last.
01
Geology and exploration
TMG’s area of focus is the Hodgkinson Province. Consisting of early to middle Paleozoic turbiditic sedimentary rocks with subordinate limestone, chert and basic volcanic rocks, the Province extends for ~500 km from south of Innisfail to Cape Melville, and inland for ~150 km from the coast to the Palmerville Fault. It contains a number of small deposits, including Besshi-type volcanic-hosted massive sulphide deposits (e.g. Mount Molloy, Dianne), Carboniferous to Permian lode gold deposits, and a number of granite-related, particularly tin, tungsten and gold deposits (e.g. Mount Garnet, Collingwood, Mungana and Red Dome).
02
Discovery and development
Once viable deposits are confirmed, the project progresses to discovery stage which involves deeply understanding and carefully planning our operation's safety, environmental impact, economic viability, and corporate social responsibility. Once plans have been confirmed, the development stage involves building roads and processing facilities, environmental management systems, and other buildings like offices and maintenance facilities.
03
Mining and production
It is envisaged that future mining operations will be conducted as a standard truck-shovel, load, and haul operation. A traditional mining fleet, benchmarked against similar sized operations will be utilised, with no specialised equipment required. A suitably qualified workforce will mostly be recruited from the local Atherton Tablelands region and surrounds.
Project spotlight
Tin
Global tin demand is forecast to materially increase as it services the technology revolution with likely growth of approximately 3–4%. This 3–4% pa growth rate (vs. historic 1.8% pa) is now forecast to cause tin metal deficits in the order of ~50–70 kt by 2025, (more than 20% of total current global production).
About us
Mining and minerals exploration in Far North Queensland
Located in Far North Queensland on the Atherton Tablelands and surrounds, TMG has been engaged in the acquisition and exploration of mineral interests, currently targeting tin mineralisation with potential to unlock iron ore and fluorine. Our tin will provide raw materials for a clean energy transition that supports a lower carbon environment.
